Privacy Policy
The Marlborough Area Development Trust (MADT), which coordinates and manages the Marlborough Area Community System, respects your privacy. We use any information you give us to provide a more usable and relevant internet service. Please read on for full details of our privacy policy.
What information do we collect?
From time to time there may be areas of the system that ask you to volunteer information as part of a survey or to submit information as part of a product or service.
If you submit such information we will store it in a database and this information may include your name, e-mail address, postal address and other information related to your use of the system and its services.
We may use this information to notify you about important functionality or content changes to the Web site, new MADT services and special offers that we think you will find beneficial. If you would rather not receive this information, please let us know.
What about "cookies"?
Two types of cookies are used on the system:
Session Cookies: which are temporary cookies that remain in the cookie file of your browser until you leave the system. These allow you to carry information across pages of the system and avoid having to re-enter information.
Persistent Cookies: which are used when you login to the system and will remain in the cookie file of your browser for longer (the exact time will depend on the lifetime of each specific cookie). Cookies can help a website to arrange content to match your preferred interests more quickly. Most major websites use cookies. Persistent Cookies help us recognise you as a unique visitor (just a number) when you return to the system and to allow us to tailor content and the presentation of the system to match your preferences. They also allow us to compile anonymous, aggregated statistics that help us to understand how users use the system and to help us improve its structure. We cannot identify you personally in this way.
By accepting our Privacy Policy you are explicitly accepting our use of cookies in this way. You do however have the ability to accept or decline cookies by modifying the settings in your browser - but if you do decline them, you may not be able to use all the interactive features of the system. More background information on cookies is available from this Wikipedia link
Does MADT disclose your information to third parties?
MADT will not sell, trade or rent your personal information to others. We may choose to do so in the future with trustworthy third parties. If you do not wish for this to happen, please let us know.
MADT may provide aggregate statistics about our members, sales, traffic patterns and related site information to reputable third-party vendors, but these statistics will include no personal identifying information.
Your consent.
By using our system, you consent to the collection and use of this information by MADT. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it.
It should be noted that since the internet does not recognise national boundaries, all web services on the net are accessible globally, therefore collection and transmission of personal data is not always confined to one country. You should be aware that by using this web site your personal data may be processed in or transferred to other countries, the USA for example, and you consent to your personal data being transferred or processed in this way.
